And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me

We saw in the previous article evidence that proves that the Qur'an is the word of God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, and in this article we will seek in the words of our Creator the identity of ourselves and the  reason of our existence, because our Creator is undoubtedly more aware of us than ourselves.

Our existence begins with the creation of Adam, the father of all mankind, and through his creation story in the Qur'an, we can identify ourselves, and know the purpose for which we were created.

God begins by explaining the relationship between us and the universe around us, because he declares that everything on earth is created for us in his word:

"[He] who made for you the earth a bed [spread out] and the sky a ceiling and sent down from the sky, rain and brought forth thereby fruits as provision for you. So do not attribute to Allah equals while you know [that there is nothing similar to Him]."

(QS. Al-Baqara 2: Verse 22)

"It is He who created for you all of that which is on the earth. Then He directed Himself to the heaven, [His being above all creation], and made them seven heavens, and He is Knowing of all things."

(QS. Al-Baqara 2: Verse 29)

We are not ordinary creatures like the rest of the creatures, but rather creatures that God has created for us all that is on earth, and that increases the importance of the purpose for which we have been created, since all that is on earth has been created for us, this meaning is confirmed in the following verse:

"And, when your Lord said to the angels, Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority. They said, Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You? Allah said, Indeed, I know that which you do not know."

(QS. Al-Baqara 2: Verse 30)

If a person is a successor on earth, and not like other creatures, God created him to be a successor and gave him what he needs to do his role, including freedom of choice and of taking  of decision, and especially the knowledge of the names of all things, and the name of the thing is its identity, since the vicar on earth must know the identity of all things in order to manage them correctly, because the ignorance of  things prevent their management. Reason why God responded to the angels when they opposed the appointment of Adam as mentioned in the previous verse, in his saying:

"And He taught Adam the names - all of them. Then He showed them to the angels and said, Inform Me of the names of these, if you are truthful."

(QS. Al-Baqara 2: Verse 31)

"They said, Exalted are You; we have no knowledge except what You have taught us. Indeed, it is You who is the Knowing, the Wise."

(QS. Al-Baqara 2: Verse 32)

"He said, O Adam, inform them of their names. And when he had informed them of their names, He said, Did I not tell you that I know the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth? And I know what you reveal and what you have concealed."

(QS. Al-Baqara 2: Verse 33)

We, the children of Adam, are distinguished by a special honor from the Creator.  He created everything on earth for us, made us caliphs on earth and honored us with the prostration of the angels to our father, as He said:

"And [mention] when We said to the angels, Prostrate before Adam; so they prostrated, except for Iblees. He refused and was arrogant and became of the disbelievers."

(QS. Al-Baqara 2: Verse 34)

We were absolutely honored in his saying:

"And We have certainly honored the children of Adam and carried them on the land and sea and provided for them of the good things and preferred them over much of what We have created, with [definite] preference."

(QS. Al-Israa 17: Verse 70).

All this honor and preference refers to the greatness of the purpose for which we were created, we are the reason for the creation of everything on earth except ourselves as we have already learned, so what is the  purpose for which we were created ?!

We find the answer in the saying of Almighty:

"And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me."

(QS. Adh-Dhaariyat 51: Verse 56)

Yes, we were created to achieve a single goal which is the worship of Almighty God, we were not created for anything else, and worship in the Arabic language is submission, humiliation and l  obedience, therefore God created us to obey Him alone, to submit to Him alone and to humble ourselves to Him alone, that is the reason why we were created.

Before going down into the field, it was God's wisdom to give us a unique experience, showing us the importance of accomplishing the task for which we were created and how we can correct mistakes.  This experience is the experience of Adam and Eve with Satan regarding the tree where God told us about it in:

"And O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat from wherever you will but do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers."

(QS. Al-A'raaf 7: Verse 19)

"But Satan whispered to them to make apparent to them that which was concealed from them of their private parts. He said, Your Lord did not forbid you this tree except that you become angels or become of the immortal."

(QS. Al-A'raaf 7: Verse 20)

"And he swore [by Allah] to them, Indeed, I am to you from among the sincere advisors."

(QS. Al-A'raaf 7: Verse 21)

"So he made them fall, through deception. And when they tasted of the tree, their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten together over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And their Lord called to them, Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you that Satan is to you a clear enemy?"

(QS. Al-A'raaf 7: Verse 22)

"They said, Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers."

(QS. Al-A'raaf 7: Verse 23)

This experience is the one we repeat every day since our descent on the ground, we disobey and ask for forgiveness and we repent, because the error is a human nature, but if we continue to seek forgiveness and repentance always, we remain on the right way, the way that God has always promised us to explain its characteristics in:

"We said, Go down from it, all of you. And when guidance comes to you from Me, whoever follows My guidance - there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve."

(QS. Al-Baqara 2: Verse 38)

This way that it is he who imprints it achieves happiness in this low world and in the hereafter, and he who forsakes it will live in this low world in misery, and in the hereafter his destiny is  hell, we will stand with the most important features of this way. in future articles, In Sha Allah.
